Ever more space for smart services, tax refunds and grants credited faster and then a push on fiscal compliance and anti-fraud checks. That is the new toolkit with which the Italian Revenue Agency aims at making more efficient its services and at reinforcing the online dialogue with millions of taxpayers.
The fiscal toolbox at the disposal of the Administration - From scheduled appointments in the office to video-calls, from the telephone to web-based services, the Agency is aiming to improve assistance to citizens and is speeding up the payment of refunds and non-refundable grants, in order to return the still needed liquidity to the community. These are some of the inputs sent to the offices contained in the Circular Letter signed today by the Director of the Agency, which illustrates the operational guidelines in the various areas of activity: services, consultancy, prevention and the fight against evasion. Particularly, the action to promote compliance, a priority for the reduction of the tax gap, will be intensified with an increase in the number of letters aimed at signalling possible anomalies in a friendly manner and enabling taxpayers to remedy any error or oversight quickly and without aggravation.
Tax Refunds speed up - Dealing promptly with requests for refunds and non-repayable contributions, to inject liquidity into the economy and contribute to the development of the country's production system is a strategic objective and an essential service for the Agency. The development of simplification and digitalisation processes will contribute to cutting payments times. Particular attention will be paid to the processing of refunds requested with the submission of the 730 form, but VAT refunds will also be able to gain speed with the possibility for the Agency to directly query the 'integrated invoice data' to obtain the documentation required to process the file.
